Remaking of Stool x601by Alvar Aalto
The original stool was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1954 and features his impressive X-Leg design. X-Legs are created from splitting the traditional L-Leg in a longitudinal direction and re-connecting the pieces to create an intricate fan-like design.
Alvar Aalto (1898-1976), one of the founders of Artek, was born in Kuortane, Finland. Alvar Aalto is recognized today as one of the great masters of modern architecture.

The techniques were clearly followed and the resources were manipulated with the guidance of lecturers for the exact product and the exact manufacturing procedure.Wood bending, wood laminating and wood handling were the key features in this stool. there was no any commercial idea with the project but only to experience the real life situation and to experience the process. The chair was remade with available sources and with a limited time period with the maximum effort of a three-member group.
